USA Ultimate is excited about continuing with the Alumni All-Star Game tradition that was started in 2007 as a way to showcase the sport and entertain players and fans in conjunction with the College Championships, which will be held May 28-31 in Madison, WI. On Sunday evening of the tournament, following the semi-finals, a team of All-Star Alumni who competed for schools in the Central Region will face off against All-Star Alumni from "The World". The game will be part of an evening at the fields that will feature the Callahan Award ceremony, dinner for teams participating in the College Championships, and other fun games/contests, .
The Alumni All-Star teams are Mixed and consist of 12 players each (6 men and 6 women). The Central team represents schools from the College Division's Central Region. "The World" team will represent the other 7 college regions(Atlantic Coast, Great Lakes, Metro East, New England, Northwest, South, Southwest). Players for these teams were selected based on an application process. Players' college eligibility must have expired prior to the 2010 College Series. Players were selected geographically based on where they played in the College Series. Selection was also be based on factors such as level of playing ability, position/type of player, and sportsmanship.
We are excited to annouce the players on the 2010 Alumni All-Star Showcase teams:
